You're missing a "System Test" column.

    1. What's your definition/process behind a "system test" column? There is more release engineering process that is currently poorly documented and would when properly listed be better on another line or in another table as it is relevant to the whole dock rather than individual consolidations.

Maybe the RE row is more appropriate to indicate a complete integrated test completion, although 147 has been released & the "solaris_re" row does not have completes in every cell.  I think the question is just what level of integrated testing can users expect from a OI release?

It would be nice if the x86 lines could be coloured light blue and the SPARC lined light red (or something like that).

It's a bit hard to read as it is.

It would be nice to have pkg's available, for example if I want to help, I may need to have access to some of these packagesto build something else - avoids duplication of work.

Will b150 build a totem which can recognise and utilise the plugins provided at ips.homeunix.org ( http://opensolaris.homeunix.com:10906/ ).

    1. Anonymous

Instead of trying to fix totem, can we have a port of VLC instead.

      1. Anonymous

Totem is an integrated component of the GNOME desktop/JDS, so that would seem a higher priority than VLC to me (although VLC ultimately would be good to have as a backup).

OpenIndiana trails behind S11X based on its 'upstream' model. Implementing consolidatons

     >S11X (b151a) are only rejected at this time.

Totem can be modified to work as a simple DVD player on the backend. Ports of both Mplayer and VLC

as well as the spec files are available for other people to compile and use.

    You need a OI_151a consolidation to utilize Alan's Xorg-1.9.2 build-2010-11-18 packages.

You can't fully utilize the Intel 2.13.x drivers yet (package uses Intel 2.10.x driver) and kernel DRM updates are needed.

    Use Nvidia GPUs for now.

I was looking to enable OpenIndiana b148 as a syslog server and thought that I needed to run the following command
    svccfg -s svc:/system/sytem-log setprop config/log_from_remote=true

however the command would not work as there was no config, I had to edit /etc/default/syslogd and uncomment out LOG_FROM_REMOTE=true.

It appears that the svccfg -s svc:/system/sytem-log setprop config/log_from_remote=true functionality was intergrated into Solaris 10 U3 (11/06).

Can this functionality be incorporated into OpenIndiana? It would be useful if OpenIndiana required the same configuration changes as Solaris going forward where possible.

After recently migrating from OpenSolaris I find not being able to play my mp3 and wav files very annoying.

When I use Totem the mp3 appears to play but there is no sound. However Flash is able to generate sound easily.

      I had similar problem.

Fixed by downloading package fro Solaris from fluendo site and after inatlling i had to reboot system (didn't had time to investigate what alse could be done to avoid reboot)

      Hope it helps.
