Firefox

The intent is to track dependencies and patches required to build Firefox on OpenIndiana.

Mozilla Firefox is a free, open-source and cross-platform web browser
for Windows, Linux, MacOS X and many other operating systems.

It is fast and easy to use, and offers many advantages over other web
browsers, such as tabbed browsing and the ability to block pop-up
windows.

Firefox also offers excellent bookmark and history management, and it
can be extended by developers using industry standards such as XML,
CSS, JavaScript, C++, etc. Many extensions are available

Notes

• Current version shipped by hipster is Firefox ESR 24.1.8
• Contributed Firefox 31.8.0esr builds by Oracle were built using the Solaris Studio compiler and are available here:

Known issues

• Don't use the older Flash plugin with newer Firefox builds. 
  • Read Thoughts on Flash - by Steve Jobs
  • Youtube now uses HTML5 by default versus Flash.
  • Use the Mozilla Shumway HTML5 extension to test all Flash/SWF/SVG/WebGL/HTML5 websites.
  • You can test newer demos and websites using Adobe Flash Professional CC 2015 and Apple Quicktime 7 Pro.

Pulseaudio 6.0 integration

• Patches for pulseaudio-5.99.3
  I applied the patches to 6.0 and have a component for oi-userland that requires testing. [Aurélien]
